Our connection to the Commonwealth is personal. Our founder and lead clinician, Roderick Perry, M.S., LMHC, is originally from Newport News, Virginia. His Virginia roots and experience as a U.S. Army veteran give him a personal understanding of the Commonwealth’s communities, its strong military presence, and the unique needs of veterans and military families.

Helping Homes Counseling & Wellness, LLC serves eligible veterans through the Department of Veterans Affairs Community Care Network when services are properly authorized by the VA.
Veterans interested in Community Care should contact their VA healthcare provider or local VA facility to ask about eligibility and request an authorization for mental health counseling. VA Community Care services generally require an approved referral before treatment can begin.
Once an authorization or referral has been issued, our office can assist with the intake process.
Military service can affect the entire family. We also provide counseling for spouses, couples, and families who need support with communication, relationship challenges, caregiving stress, trauma-related concerns, or adjustment following deployment or military separation.
